【摘要】:Theserequirementscoverhouseholdcookingequipmentthatisfloororcabinetsupported,wall-mounted,countermounted,orcombinationsthereof,rated600Vorless,forinstallationinaccordancewiththeNationalElectricalCode.Theserequirementsalsocoverventilatinghoodsthatareprovidedasanintegralpartofthecookingequipment,orthatareseparatelysupportedonthebuildingstructurebutarrangedforfactory-providedelectricalconnectiontothecookingequipmentwithwhichtheyareintendedtobeused.Theserequirementsdonotcovercommercialcookingappliancesanddonotcoverspecialtypesofhouseholdcookingappliances.However,ifsuchappliancesareusedasapartofarange,oven,surfaceassembly,orcombinationthereof,theywillbejudgedonthebasisofcompliancewiththerequirementsinthisstandard,insofarastheyapply,andfurtherappropriateexaminationandtestsinaccordancewiththeapplicablerequirementsforelectricheatingappliances.Theserequirementsdonotcoveralltestsrequiredonhouseholdcookingapplianceshavingmicrowaveovens.Forthepurposeoftheserequirements,cookingequipmentincludesranges,ovens,surfaceassemblies,orcombinationsthereof.Arangeisconsideredtobeacombinationofasurfaceassemblywithoneormoreovens.Wall-mountedcookingequipmentisconsideredtobethoseappliancesintendedformountinginoronawallorotherverticalsurfaceofabuildingorcabinet.Counter-mountedcookingequipmentisconsideredtobethoseappliancesintendedformountinginoronacounterorotherhorizontalsurfaceofabuildingorcabinet.Inthefollowingtext,arequirementthatappliesonlytoone,two,orthreeoftheclassesofequipmentcomingwithinitsscope-ventilatinghoods,ranges,wall-mountedovens,counter-mountedcookingunits,orcombinationsthereof-aresoidentified.Intheabsenceofsuchspecificreference,orifthetermapplianceisemployed,itistobeunderstoodthattherequirementappliestoalloftheseclassesofequipment.Aproductthatcontainsfeatures,characteristics,components,materials,orsystemsnewordifferentfromthosecoveredbytherequirementsinthisstandard,andthatinvolvesariskoffireorofelectricshockorinjurytopersonsshallbeevaluatedusingappropriateadditionalcomponentandend-productrequirementstomaintainthelevelofsafetyasoriginallyanticipatedbytheintentofthisstandard.Aproductwhosefeatures,characteristics,components,materials,orsystemsconflictwithspecificrequirementsorprovisionsofthisstandarddoesnotcomplywiththisstandard.Revisionofrequirementsshallbeproposedandadoptedinconformancewiththemethodsemployedfordevelopment,revision,andimplementationofthisstandard.
