【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversblendeduraniumtrioxide(UO3),U3O8,ormixturesofthetwo,powdersthatareintendedforconversionintoasinterableuraniumdioxide(UO2)powderbymeansofadirectreductionprocess.TheUO2powderproductofthereductionprocessmustmeettherequirementsofSpecificationC753andbesuitableforsubsequentUO2pelletfabricationbypressingandsinteringmethods.Thisspecificationappliestouraniumoxideswitha235Uenrichmentlessthan5%.1.2Thisspecificationincludeschemical,physical,andtestmethodrequirementsforuraniumoxidepowdersastheyrelatetothesuitabilityofthepowderforstorage,transportation,anddirectreductiontoUO2powder.Thisspecificationisapplicabletouraniumoxidepowdersforsuchusefromanysource.1.3Thescopeofthisspecificationdoesnotcomprehensivelycoverallprovisionsforpreventingcriticalityaccidents,forhealthandsafety,orforshipping.Observanceofthisspecificationdoesnotrelievetheuseroftheobligationtoconformtoallinternational,national,state,andlocalregulationsforprocessing,shipping,oranyotherwayofusinguraniumoxidepowders(see2.2and2.3).1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.5Thefollowingsafetyhazardscaveatpertainsonlytothetestmethodsportionoftheannexesinthisspecification:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
