【摘要】:Thespontaneousheatingvalueofasubstanceisameasureoftheabilityofthatsubstancetoundergoself-heatingreactionswhilesupportedbycellulosicorotherfibrousmaterialinair.Itisanindexoftheautoignitiontendencyofthesubstanceundersuchconditions.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthenon-adiabaticdeterminationofthespontaneousheatingvalues(SHV)ofliquidsandsolids.Itisapplicabletosubstancesthatarenotcompletelyvolatileatthetesttemperature.Spontaneousheatingvaluesobtainedbythistestmethodarequalitativeindicationsofthedegreeofself-heatingthatmaybeexpectedtooccuruponexposureofthesampletoairatthetesttemperature.1.2Valuesobtainedbythismethodareapplicabletoliquidsandsolidssupportedoncellulosicsurfaces.Theyarenotapplicabletoliquidsonmetalsurfaces,oncontaminatedsurfaces,oratpressuresaboveatmospheric.1.3Spontaneousheatingvaluesdeterminedbythepresenttestmethodareregardedonlyasqualitativemeasurementsofself-heatingwhichoccursundertheconditionsofthetest.Thetestmethoddoesnotpurporttoproduceaquantitativemeasureoftheenthalpyofreactionofthesamplewithairatagiventesttemperature.Suchdatacanbeobtainedbytheuseofanadiabaticcalorimeter.Theexistence,underthetestconditions,ofapositivetemperaturedifferencebetweenthesampleandthereferenceisevidenceofathermochemicalreactioninthesample.1.4Themagnitudeofthemeasuredtemperaturedifferenceisasemiquantitativeindicationoftheenthalpyandrateofthatreaction.Sincefactorssuchasheatlossfromthesampletothebathandquenchingofthereactionduetotoorapidconsumptionofoxygenaffecttheamountanddurationofthemeasuredheateffect,caremustbetakennottoattributetoomuchquantitativesignificancetothetestresults.Itissufficient,forthepurposeofthistest,todeterminewhetherornotthesampleiscapableofundergoingaself-heatingreactionofsufficientmagnitudeandrapiditytoproduceadetectablethermaleffect.Thespontaneousheatingvalue(SHV)canbelowerthanthetesttemperature.Anegativeresultdoesnotprecludespontaneousheatinginitiatingatatemperaturehigherthanthetesttemperature.1.5Thisstandardshouldbeusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditionsandshouldnotbeusedtodescribeorappraisethefire-hazardorfire-riskofmaterials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.However,resultsofthistestmaybeusedaselementsofafire-hazardassessmentorafire-riskassessmentwhichtakesintoaccountallofthefactorswhicharepertinenttoanassessmentofthefirehazardorfireriskofaparticularenduse.1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Incaseswherematerials,productsorequipmentareavailableininch-poundunitsonly,SIunitsareomitted.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsforthechemicalanalysisofmetalsandalloysareprimarilyintendedasrefereemethodstotestsuchmaterialsforcompliancewithcompositionalspecifications,particularlythoseunderthejurisdictionofASTMCommitteeonSteel,StainlessSteelandRelatedAlloys.Itisassumedthatallwhousethesetestmethodswillbetrainedanalystscapableofperformingcommonlaboratoryproceduresskillfullyandsafely.ItisexpectedthatworkwillbeperformedinaproperlyequippedlaboratoryunderappropriatequalitycontrolpracticessuchasthosedescribedinGuideE882.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthechemicalanalysisofhigh-temperature,electrical,magnetic,andothersimilariron,nickel,andcobaltalloyshavingchemicalcompositionswithinthefollowinglimits:1.3MethodsforthedeterminationofseveralelementsnotincludedinthisstandardcanbefoundinTestMethodsE30andTestMethodsE1019.1.4Someoftheconcentrationrangesgiveninaretoobroadtobecoveredbyasinglemethodandthereforethisstandardcontainsmultiplemethodsforsomeelements.TheusermustselectthepropermethodbymatchingtheinformationgivenintheScopeandInterferencesectionsofeachmethodwiththecompositionofthealloytobeanalyzed.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Insomecases,exceptionsallowedinPracticeE380arealsoused.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardsstatementsaregiveninSectionandinspecial"Warning"paragraphsthroughoutthesetestmethods.1.6Thismethodcoversthedeterminationofmanganeseinconcentrationsfrom0.05to2.00percent.1.7Thismethodcoversthedeterminationofphosphorusinconcentrationsfrom0.002to0.08%.
