【摘要】:Thehealthofworkersinmanyindustries,forexample,mining,metalrefining,batterymanufacture,construction,etc.,isatriskthroughexposurebyinhalationofparticulateleadandleadcompounds.Industrialhygienistsandotherpublichealthprofessionalsneedtodeterminetheeffectivenessofmeasurestakentocontrolworkers''exposure,andthisisgenerallyachievedbymakingworkplaceairmeasurements.Thisstandardhasbeenpublishedinordertomakeavailableamethodformakingvalidexposuremeasurementsforlead.Itwillbeofbenefitto:agenciesconcernedwithhealthandsafetyatwork;industrialhygienistsandotherpublichealthprofessionals;analyticallaboratories;industrialusersofmetalsandmetalloidsandtheirworkers,etc.Ithasbeenassumedinthedraftingofthisstandardthattheexecutionofitsprovisions,andtheinterpretationoftheresultsobtained,isentrustedtoappropriatelyqualifiedandexperiencedpeople.ThemeasuringprocedureshallcomplywithanyrelevantInternational,EuropeanorNationalStandardthatspecifiesperformancerequirementsforproceduresformeasuringchemicalagentsinworkplaceair(forexample,EN482).1.1Thisstandardspecifiesflameandgraphitefurnaceatomicabsorptionspectrometricmethodsforthedeterminationofthetime-weightedaveragemassconcentrationofparticulateleadandleadcompoundsinworkplaceair.1.2Themethodisapplicabletopersonalsamplingoftheinhalablefractionofairborneparticles,asdefinedinISO7708,andtostatic(area)sampling.1.3Thesampledissolutionprocedurespecifieshotplateormicrowavedigestion,orultrasonicextraction(11.2).Thesampledissolutionprocedureisnoteffectiveforallleadcompounds(seeSection5).Theuseofanalternative,morevigorousdissolutionprocedureisnecessarywhenitisdesiredtoextractleadfromcompoundspresentinthetestatmospherethatareinsolubleusingthedissolutionproceduresdescribedherein.Forexampleifitisdesiredtodeterminesilicatelead,ahydrofluoricaciddissolutionprocedureisrequired.1.4Theflameatomicabsorptionmethodisapplicabletothedeterminationofmassesofapproximately1to200x03BC;gofleadpersample,withoutdilution(1).Thegraphitefurnaceatomicabsorptionmethodisapplicabletothedeterminationofmassesofapproximately0.01to0.5x03BC;gofleadpersample,withoutdilution(1).1.5Theultrasonicextractionprocedurehasbeenvalidatedforthedeterminationofmassesofapproximately20to100x03BC;gofleadpersample,forlaboratory-generatedleadfumeairfiltersamples(2).1.6Theconcentrationrangeforleadinairforwhichthisprocedureisapplicableisdeterminedinpartbythesamplingprocedureselectedbytheuser(seeSection10).1.7Anionsthatformprecipitateswithleadmayinterfere,butthispotentialinterferenceisovercomebytheadditionofthedisodiumsaltofethylenediaminetetraaceticacid(EDTA)whennecessary.1.8ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.9Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
